If you ever want to enhance your learning process a great place to learn is Instructables. My time is very limited due to work, but when I have the chance I sit down and learn something. This morning I've decided I wanted to take some classes about Design Sketching for my projects in mind. If you have followed me in my other crafts you know I'm a Artist I draw, paint, crafts and many other things when it comes to that creative part of mine. But there is something about sketching right for a project instead of doodling, so that is why I wanted to refresh my brain on how to properly Sketch in 2D and 3D so when I have a woodworking project in mind I can sit down and put in paper my idea before I pickup my tools and things are not design or measured right.
Like I said, this is something I don't really need when it comes to learning cause I've learned these things when I went to school and earned my degree as a Graphic Desginer along time ago but is never to late to refresh your memory and enhance your skills. I've always say "Knowledge is power!" And that my friends is important in life.

Oh my! The best deal yet in such an amazing wood working tool. I've found this great Woodwork Parkside electric planer over at a Lidl local store on sale for $20.00 in the US. I think is a wonderful machine, it makes the wood very smooth with out no problems. Very well built feels very strong and is powerful. I can't beat any other price cause I've been hunting for a planer for a long time, but when ever I see the price is always on the high end. So this was a a surprise while I was shopping around for food and I couldn't resist. Is the first time I own this brand and so far is great, has 3 years warranty and it's a solid tool this will help around the shop to make that wood smooth like butter. Hope you enjoy the video!!! Well it seems that this wont stop, I'm trying to get certain tools to help me out in creating Japanese Wood Work. So I've done some research. I've found over at Amazon a Shinwa Japanese Miter Square, Japanese Wood Block Plane KANNA and a Shinwa 1.75" / 4.5 cm Solid Brass Stainless Steel Machinist Square and you have no idea how happy I am. This is definitely going to make things more fun to learn and create and I can't wait to show you. I've been liking allot the Japanese Woodwork style so I've decided to go ahead and get some of the tools need it for this type of work, I want to learn how to work this beautiful Japanese Art. This is my first small flat plane and a small mallet a Kiduchi. I bought these tools on eBay, they were very inexpensive so I'm hoping they will work for me to try them out and probably in the future get better ones. The small flat plane I had to sharpen cause it had like this plastic around the blade that was blocking the blade from cutting, a perfect excuse to use my diamond blocks to sharpen the blade. It took a while but I think I got it, it might need more adjustments as I go but I'm also in need to learn how to master this tool. The Kiduchi is perfect I love it, just the right size 36 mm. I've absolutely love them, can't wait to use them in my coming Japanese projects. I know my absence on my wood shop have been for quite a while, but there was a reason why. I've started a full time job where I was tide down with a tight schedule where there was no room for extra activities, I've really had no time for nothing anymore. But now, I will put more emphasis on my wood work and hopefully you will see more fun projects that I have in mind. Check out Woody reading the news, he has been chilling for a while at the shop and he is super exited that we are back. Most of the tools I own for wood working came from Harbor Freight Tools, I know allot of people will say that these tools are cheap and not worth your money. For me these tools have opened a world of opportunity and creativeness to start wood working and see in the long run what I use the most and get a better quality tool later if I really use them. It works for me and I'm sure for allot of people as well cause they are affordable. This past weekend I've went visit the store, took the camera with me and make a short video for those that don't live in the United States and can see a glimpse of the inside world of Harbor Freight. I kind of focused more on the wood work tools and at a certain point I had to put my camera away because there was allot of people inside the store and they were kind of looking at me like a YouTube Star and asking questions LOL. |
